I thought I’d post one of my shotgun classes for all you shotgun fans.

This is a class meant for moving around, not necessarily fast or silently, just being mobile. What you want to do is try and figure out the parts of each map where it’s mostly CQB (close quarter combat). Pretty much every map in Black Ops has the possibility to move from one end to the other without being in the open too much.
Now let’s go on to the class, this is my setup:

• Primary: SPAS (no attachment)
• Secondary: Handgun or launcher (The spas has 8 shells, so a handgun isn’t really necessary unless you run out of ammo…)
• Lethal: Semtex
• Tactical: Flashbang
• Equipment: Motion sensor
• Blue perk: Hardline (pro)
• Red perk: Steady aim (pro)
• Green perk: Hacker (pro)

As primary weapon I went with the Spas, for me it’s the best shotgun. It has 8 shells, it’s semi-automatic and more often than not it’s a one hit kill. Furthermore, in CQB it beats pretty much everything.

As my secondary weapon I go with the launcher. You don’t really need a pistol with this class because the Spas has plenty of ammo.

I use a motion sensor however I don’t really stick around it to ‘defend’ (read: camp). Just try and hide it in a place where enemies are bound to go through and you’ll be able to track where they’re heading more easily.

Lethal slot pretty straightforward choose whatever you feel most comfortable with. I go with semtex because I play mostly domination. Frag grenades roll around too much and tomahawk doesn’t really allow me to kill multiple people at once when they’re trying to capture a point.

Tactical slot however is quite important. While using a shotgun you occasionally WILL find yourself in a situation where you’re in range for the enemy, but he’s out of range for you. That’s where the flash bang comes in, if you’re fast enough you can blind enemies that are further away and then rush to finish them off. I found this helped me a lot to survive some duels that I shouldn’t have survived.

Perks are hardline pro (I find it to be the most useful with this class, don’t find myself running out of ammo and stealth or speed isn’t really what this class is aiming for). Second perk is Steady aim pro, it reduces the spread of the Spas and lets you recover from a knife lunge more quickly (very useful in CQB). And third perk is Hacker pro simply to detect claymores and to be invisible to motion sensors, cameras and such (need the pro version though)

Try this class out, try out different shotguns to find the one that suits you best. Shotguns do require some getting used to, but they’re VERY effective when used well.

  1. Dude are you fucking high?
I realize you may be busy, but at least know a bit about Black Ops. SPAS is completely unaffected by the silencer attachment. lol…

Every single shotgun in the game was made for its attachment, and SPAS was made for stealth, since its unaffected by the silencer attachment. Thats also why all the shotguns have 1 or no attachment.

    SPAS: Stealth
    Stakeout: Regular Shotgunning
    HKs: Spamming bullets (Room clearing)
    Olympia: Dying horribly

wow, way to make an argument…

First of all, it’s called the class of the week. Why is it called that? Because it’s a place where people can post a class THEY USED and that they performed well with.

It DOES NOT mean that every class here is going to be unbeatable, and you shouldn’t assume that every gun has only one good class.

I posted the class. I am in fact aware that the SPAS is unaffected by the silencer, does that mean that I have to use it? The answer is, as you might have guessed, no.

Having the enemy look for you can be a good thing, as long as you’re not half bad in gunfights. And as I said, if you stick to CQB situations, most of the time you’ll kill the enemies that are checking out the gunshot they saw on the map.

If I actually wanted to make a stealth class, I wouldn’t use a silenced shotgun. I’m not saying that shotguns make bad stealth classes, I’m saying there are guns better suited for stealth. Shotguns in my opinion, should be 1-2 shot killers. You encounter an enemy, you dispose of him quickly and you move on, simple.

You have the right to disagree with me, you also have the right to dislike the class I posted. I have no problem with that at al.

  5. i think spas with the silencer would be better. Its like not having a plus when you could have one.
