Tips, tricks and tactics for Modern Warfare 2

There’s now a preview video available for the upcoming map pack. Do I like it? I don’t know. I can’t tell it immediately by the video (sometimes you can, you know). Perhaps it gets clearer when there’s some actual gameplay released. In the mean time, have fun with the preview vid! And yeah, it would be nice to have some more maps, since the ‘old’ maps  are getting a little, well, old. Tell me what you think:

The second map pack, the resurgance pack, will be out June 3rd for all Xbox users. Here’s a short video of what to expect:

Breaking news from Robert Bowling’s Twitter account (@fourzerotwo), the second map pack (which would come second half of 2010) is coming out in a few weeks for Xbox players! Right now, it’s scheduled at June 3rd and according to Robert, will contain five new maps!

Speculation

At Modern Warfare 24/7, there’s speculation that the new maps will be

• Shipment (from CoD4)
• Vacant (from CoD4)
• Revolt
• DC White House
• Abandoned

Double XP

Of course, all of this means more double xp!
From the Activision press release:

Additionally, to celebrate the upcoming release, Infinity Ward will host two Double XP weekends. The first Double XP will take place beginning Friday, May 28, and the second will follow on Friday, June 4.

The stimulus package wasn’t even available for PS3 and PC users until yesterday, but somehow the news got out that there will be a second map pack coming. And it’s coming this fall! (source: IGN)

For those of you who haven’t yet bought the map pack and are considering it: I can recommend it to you. It’s a little more expensive than previous and similar map packs, but if we take a look at all those hours of fun, I think it’s still a good deal. And Crash rocks.

So it’s less than a month away. There’s also double XP coming, along with new playlists. More info on that later!

So the Stimulus Package is out for a few days now and the first videos start coming in. Here’s a nice one by SeaNanners that I thought might be of interest to you. He shows you the three brand new maps, Bailout, Salvage and Storm. I’ll add some more videos when I find nice ones!

As you probably know by now, there’s a map pack coming for MW2. First in line are those with an Xbox360, they will be able to purchase the map pack as of March 30th. Later, (some say April 30th) it will be available to PS3 and PC players. The maps that will be featured in the ‘Stimulus Package’ are Crash and Overgrown from CoD4:MW and three brand new maps: Bailout, Salvage and Storm.
