Call of Duty: Black Ops

While some of you are getting exciting because of the PC and PS3 launch of the MW2 Map Pack, Activision released a teaser for Black Ops. This game will be made by Treyarch again and the release date is November 9th. In the meantime, I’m curious when the first announcements by Respawn (new found studio by former Infinity Ward [makers of MW2] employees) will come. Meanwhile, check out the Black Ops teaser:

Class of the Week #8 (M4A1) M4A1

It’s one of the first rifles to use and a lot of players don’t use it anymore. To some extend, this makes sense. The M4A1 is one of the low damage assault rifles like the ACR, but it is not as accurate as the ACR. So you’ll see a lot of people using higher damage rifles or more accurate rifles. Does this mean the M4A1 sucks? No. Is it the best weapon? No (if there even is such thing). But the M4A1 can be used effectively. I think the feel is very predictable, it’s quite easy to handle. Improving your kill/death-ratio on MW2

I’ve noticed that the kill/death-ratio is still considered an important factor in determining skill in the online community. I’ve said it before: I think the kill/death-ratio (or KDR) is overrated. But that doesn’t mean that it says nothing; surely, in every gamemode, most good players will have a positive KDR (or more kills than deaths). In modes like Team Deathmatch it matters even more. In this guide I will give you some tips and tactics for improving your KDR, without sacrificing teamplay and fun. Read the rest of this entry »

Class of the Week #7 (ACR) ACR

And finally it’s weekend again! Time for another Class of the Week. This time it’s a very versatile class, which is actually one of my go-to classes. So when you’re in doubt which class to use, a class like this will most likely do pretty well on most occasions. Read the rest of this entry »

Class of the Week #6 (Barrett)

This week it’s time to be the sniper. For those of you who play hardcore and like to be stealthy snipers, check out Ω8o8′s Stealth Sniper Classes. This class is more for the regular snipers, not so much for the super stealthy or super aggressive, quick-scoping ones Read the rest of this entry »

Stimulus Package for PC and PS3

This is a tweet by Robert Bowling, giving the release date for the Stimulus Package on PC and PS3:

@fourzerotwo The Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package DLC will hit PS3 in North America on May 4th, everywhere else May 5th. PC gets it worldwide on May 4th

So it’s less than a month away. There’s also double XP coming, along with new playlists. More info on that later!

Stealth Sniper Classes by Ω8o8

I would like to thank Ω8o8 for contributing to this blog. He made some nice classes which are very useful if you plan to be a stealthy sniper. One thing to note though, is that these classes work best on hardcore gamemodes. The silencer reduces the damage by a great amount on regular modes, so you’ll have to make headshots or shoot multiple times. Alternatively, you could lose the silencer. That will compromise your stealth-ness a little and you’ll have to play differently, but it would work. On hardcore, these classes are no doubt very solid and useful, so let’s have a look at them!

Hello everyone! This short guide will go over a few good classes for stealth sniping along with strategies that fit together well with each class. They consist of each sniper plus the FAL for its semi-auto fire. Read the rest of this entry »
